I made a lot of videos and podcast episodes in 2020. To narrow down which ones I’d pick for this video, I divided them into four categories and picked five from each one. I also talk for a little while at the beginning about my plans for making videos and podcasting in the new year, and especially my plans for writing.
My latest rewrite feature tackles Stanley Kubrick’s cautionary tale about how we’re all going to die because everyone in charge is either insane, incompetent, or both.
The 1990s were the Golden Age of Star Trek. Three different series and a slew of movies had all the Trekkies on top of the world. But, not to be too greedy about it, I think we could have had a lot more. Here’s what I would have added and amended about Star Trek in the 90s.
“Overdrawn at the Memory Bank” is a TV Movie from the 1980s based on a story written in the 1970s which is ripe for a reboot in the 2020s, either as part of a TV series or as a movie in the vein of “Inception” and “The Matrix”.
As much as I love Star Wars, there are definitely some things I would change about it. This is the first in my new “Stephen Rewrites” feature.
