My name is Stephen Mark Monteith. I’ve written short stories in various fiction genres, mostly sci-fi and fantasy, and am also working on a long-term multi-book project. While you wait for my novels to become available in print form, links to my ebooks are available on the homepage. They can be read on all platforms.
I currently live in Virginia Beach, VA, and have for most of my life. It’s a perfect little city for me, with a balance of buildings and nature, and within driving distance of plenty of other interesting places. When I travel, it’s usually either to visit friends or to attend sci-fi/fantasy conventions. It’s my hope to one day be a featured guest at these conventions and not just an attendee.
Though writing is my major talent, I’ve always wanted to do more. This site is a place where I can bring all my creative efforts together. On my DeviantArt page, you can see my drawings and other artwork. My webcomic, Depressed Thoughts, is a way for me to explore my personal problems (without giving away personal details). In the days to come, I’ll be adding more content to each of these sites, as well as to my social media profiles. I’d appreciate any feedback you have on these efforts, as well as my writing.
My podcast is a chance for me to offer my perspective on sci-fi and fantasy topics in such a way as to promote positive interactions, entertainment, and criticism. I also use it to address pressing social issues, offering my perspective and guidance. The podcasts will be posted on the Stephen Talks tab; or, you can find me on Spreaker, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon.com, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Podcast Addict, Podchaser, and JioSaavn.
If you have any questions for me, you can leave a comment somewhere on the site, or you can ask me on social media. Here are the links to all of my social media accounts (that are associated with my writing life, at least). Follow my page on Facebook and share my posts with your friends and family. YouTube is mostly a place for me to watch music videos while I write, but every now and then I’ll post a video of me singing karaoke or sharing random thoughts. I’ll be sharing a lot more thoughts on my Twitch channel. I’ll be writing and sharing insights on writing for anyone interested in discussing it. I also have a Vero account, which is like a combination of Twitter and Instagram for artists and creators, and a Post account, which is another Twitter alternative. I know, they’re new and small, but I’ve spoken about my reasons for leaving Twitter. Download the Vero and Post apps and find me at the links I’ve provided. My Instagram account has photos from my trips to sci-fi conventions and the occasional personal post. Hopefully, some day, you’ll even see photos of me at my own book signings.
